If you are a seafood lover, this recipe is bound to become one of your weeknight favorites: Glazed Shrimp. The depth of soy sauce, the brightness of fresh lemon, and the kick of garlic beautifully combine with premium olive oil to create a restaurant-quality dish in under 10 minutes.
Ingredients (Serves 4)
Main Ingredients:
500 g shrimp (peeled and deveined)
Salt and black pepper (to taste)
Oro di Milas olive oil
For the Glaze:
5 cloves garlic (crushed or minced)
3 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp red pepper flakes (or ground red pepper)
Juice of 1 lemon
Instructions
Whisk the Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the minced garlic, soy sauce, red pepper, and freshly squeezed lemon juice. Set aside.
Sear the Shrimp: Heat a generous splash of Oro di Milas olive oil in a large skillet over high heat. Add the shrimp to the hot pan, season with a pinch of salt and black pepper, and sauté for about 2-3 minutes until they just turn pink.
Tip: Keep the extra salt minimal, as soy sauce already brings plenty of saltiness to the dish.
Glaze the Shrimp: Pour the prepared sauce directly over the shrimp in the skillet. Lower the heat slightly and toss continuously for another 1-2 minutes until the sauce reduces into a glossy, sticky coating that beautifully glazes the shrimp.
Serve: Serve hot immediately. Garnish with chopped green onions or toasted sesame seeds if desired.
